Just a few days away from the next part of the Andre Rieu World Stadium tour. The next couple of weeks we will be visiting Amsterdam, then do a TV-special in my hometown Maastricht, and then pay a visit to Leipzig.

Pictures follow when I’m back! Then I also will continue with my MultiTouch setup and the WiiMote hacks!

Finally I’ve got a WiiMote borrowed from a friend! Now I can start the by Johnny Lee (www.johnnylee.net) inspired hacks for my computer. I showed his video to my teacher and asked if we could make a graduation project around this. Fortunately, he also got very enthusiast when seeing the video and ensured me that we would come up with a proper project!

First target: Get the examples up and running! A encountered a couple of problem getting the wii hooked upped to my pc. First of all, the BlueSoleil bluetooth stack is not free to use, and I thought it should also be possible to pair the WiiMote with the program which came along with my MSI BToes 1.0 usb dongle. With the help of google I found a easy way to do this, so problem solved.

Being full of excitement, I started the program johnny Lee has written:

Hmm, what could this be.. Again with the help of google I found out I had to update my DirectX version to the latest. Now running the software just works great! Now I just have to make a fancy goggle with a IR LED on the right and left side, so the WiiMote can track my head. I didn’t had any IR LEDs, so I took 2 remotes and pushed the buttons, which makes the IR LEDs blink. I works! Although it’s a bit glitchy due to the blinking LEDs, I was surprised of the smoothes already achieved! When I’m back home in a couple of weeks I’ll buy some IR LED’s and continue with the next tests.

Hi everybody,

Welcome to my Blog!

On this page I will be keeping you up-to-date with all my current activities. Currently I’m a student at the Eindhoven University of Technology, or like we say in Dutch, the TU/e. I’m planning to graduate at the Embedded Systems chair, which is part of the Electrical engineering department. There are only a few courses left for me, before I can start with graduating. I don’t know yet what my graduation subject will be, since I want to ‘embed’ some of my interests in it. My interests are Multi-touch, Apple, Professional Lighting and Network systems like ArtNet and ACN.
